Me and my sister bought two fish and we named them "Fish" and "fingers". "Fish" was my fish and he was lying on his side under water. He didnt move whatsoever. So i went to get another fish the same day he died and named him fish 2. I cleaned out the fish tank to make sure there was no bacteria left from the other dead fish to pass on to Fingers. So i came home with the new fish and put him in the clean tank. The next day he was swimming about quite happily, but there was something wrong. He kept rolling side to side. But he was still happily swimming. When i came back from our day trip to a garden centre, the fish was lying identically the same as how Fish 1 was lying. On its side under water. I moved the ornament and he started swimming again, but then he stopped dead. I was v ery puzzled so i put our net in the water to catch the fish, he didnt fight at all. so i took him out the water, and he was flapping about like nothing else. so i put him back in the water again and then he was lying on his side. I decided that the fish was dying, so i left him for an hour or two. I came back only to find that he was lying on his side again. So i caught him with the net again and he didnt move, i flushed him down the loo. But what puzzled me was that my sisters fish is still alive and kicking after seeing the other two fish die in front of his little beady eyes. It was quite sad and Fingers has now lost two of his companions.
I hope the fish was not sleeping that i flushed down the loo. :O!

'Busy dying' - just love that expression!
Our first, and almost last, attempt was with fish from a pet shop that did NOT tell us we had to put drops in the tap water we used to eliminate the chlorine. Consequently, next morning our two lovely new goldfish were doing a very static backstroke on the surface of the bowl. Eeek.
