It seems especially unfair to me that as moms of children with different paths, oftentimes it's up to us not only to manage it, but to help others manage it, too. I still resist that sometimes. I admire how you tried; it's inspiring to me. And why do we try, even? For our kids. Because on some level, we know the more people who can love them, and understand them, and appreciate them, the better their lives will be. Thanks for all your posts. I really love reading them. It must be very frustrating to feel like L's grandparents aren't interested or involved. I have experienced similiar situations with my in-laws. I wonder if sometimes people are too scared or uncomfortable with the situation and so they "do nothing" which is 100% the opposite of what we need them to do.
